On the afternoon of December 10^th, Vice Governor Wu Guiying led a delegation to visit HIE. Accompanied by Chen Yuetang, Party Secretary of the CPC HIE committee, and Yi Bing, President of HIE, Vice Governor Wu and his entourage inspected campus environment, talent training, professional construction, scientific research, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Walking into the campus, Vice Governor Wu was attracted by a piece of wind turbine blade placed on the grass beside Zhixing Square and simulation models of high-rise wind turbine on both sides of the school road. She said that disciplinary characteristics of HIE are thoroughly integrated into its campus environment. "The natural scenery of HIE is picturesque with Muyu Lake Park, a significant achievement of college-authority joint construction, being one of its landmarks. The wind turbine model is also an embodiment of HIE's professional features. It does provide a very beautiful environment for teachers and students to work and study." Wu Guiying put.

Wu Guiying pointed out that HIE has a long history, profound cultural heritage, fruitful school-running results, distinctive scientific disciplinary characteristics, and remarkable results in the cultivation of applied talents. It has cultivated and delivered a large number of talents for the development of the electromechanical and textile industries. It is hoped that HIE will focus on the development of key industries, highlight its scientific disciplinary characteristics, identify orientation for talent cultivation, seize development opportunities, make full efforts in technological innovation, and strive to promote the reform and development of the school to a new level, so as to serve the regional economic development and turn the grand blueprint drawn by President Xi Jinping for Hunan into reality.

Chen Yuetang stated that HIE will, guided by the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s speech in Hunan and that of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19^th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and in accordance with the strategic layout of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, further enhance its ability to serve local economic and social development by scientifically planning its "14th Five-Year Plan" development blueprint, insisting on moral education, condensing school-running characteristics, strengthening school-running advantages, comprehensively improving its core competitiveness and talent training quality.
